The Silk Museum

Today my family and I went on a day trip to Macclesfield to visit the famous Silk Museum. This is a place I have always wanted to go to but never seem to get the time.

Just as we were about to leave we noticed there was a staircase leading upstairs, we entered a rather large room to discover many outfits on display. This was a surprise and made the day more special. There was an exhibition of clothes made by students from the Macclesfield School of Art using the 'Macclesfield stripe' which was a popular design from the 1920-1940s.
