There are many elements making up Moon-Face’s costume; his base layer consists of a white top made from Jersey fabric, as I’ve found this is the best and most successful way to make a top. His trousers are made from my little cousin’s old swimming shorts after I’d washed them, of course!

In the story, he has red handkerchief; I have accessorised it around his neck as I wanted it to be the centre of his costume. His coat is made using the wet felting technique; once it was dry, I decided to embellish it using some of my felt bats which I had made in advance. I used this to cut out leaf shapes and stitched them onto his coat. I hope the costume the character’s bond to the Faraway Tree.

Finally, he is holding his toffee bag; if you’re an Enchanted Wood fan, you will know how much Moon-Face loves toffee. In the story, he uses it as a type of currency for the children when the children want to use his slide (slippery-slip) which is located under the floor in his treehouse.
